After replacing the rear U joint, does it make a difference how the driveshaft yoke mates to the differential flange? My 66 service manual says to " Mark relationship of shaft to companion flange".
Then on re-assembly "align propeller shaft with companion flange, using reference marks established in the "removal Procedure"
Well guess what, I didn't mark the flange. I have heard to try it and then if all is not good, to disconnect and rotate shaft 180 and try it again. I am sure the driveshaft has been disconnected many times, so it's 50/50 the way it came from the factory.
What is going on here, could someone explain?
