I think most on here thought my car was over cammed but car seems to be running really well. Here is my combo. Of course this is the third motor in a year but this one really seems to have it together. Power is not an issue and at some point I plan to spray a 100 or 125 shot.

496
Brodix RR Ovals CNC 115's
Comp Cams Solid Roller 262/272 @.050 .714/.734 lift
Vic Jr. Slightly ported 1" spacer
BG 850 E85 self built
2" Ceramic Coated Headers
Scorpion Roller Rockers
Isky Needless lifters
Forged Scat Assembly
H-beam Rods
JE 13.1 Pistons
BTE 4500 Stall
TH350
12 bolt 4.10 gears 33 spline axles, Full spool, all Moser
UMI adjustable uppers
UMI boxed lowers
UMI relocation brackets (on top hole)
Hrparts Rear Anti Roll bar
Afco Rear shocks (haven't mounted yet)
Santhuff front springs (haven't tested yet but are mounted)
28x10.50 ET Drags (haven't tested yet)

I think that about covers it.
Better get you a turbo 400 before you shot that NOS:yes:...the turbo 350 won't take it IMO.

328/216 at .600 is LOW compared to the more popular heads out there.
These are the results from Mike Lewis (Wolfplace) flow bench.

RR OVAL 270cc port
100 - 77/65
200 - 152/118
300 - 224/147
400 - 283/178
500 - 318/205
600 - 344/230
700 - 347/248

I know there are better flowing heads out there, but they have very respectable flow numbers (especially for there port size), high velocity and when you consider they are a TRUE oem replacement head (everything in stock location, stock valve angles), I still still think they are pretty dang good.

If that's what they flow with no work done to them they just might be the most efficient conventional bbc port in existence

They are, why do you think I'm using them ;)
Its quite astonishing actually.if brodix would drop the price $400 they would own that market

Guys,

You may want to check out the 265 AFR's on Mikes same flowbench (I know he's posted this data somewhere?).....that makes it very valid comparison. Trying to shuffle thru "advertised" numbers from different vendors is almost useless.

Pay close attention to the area under the curve numbers....not just peak.

Thru a slightly smaller port as well.

And the Brodix certainly is a good piece and flows well for its size....no question about it.

Tony - Nice flow, but where are the track results? Any results from combo's on the track yet 265 or 290?

Too new.....you guys should see results from combo's built with both heads soon.

Don't worry....they wont disappoint at the dyno or the track....LOL

I know a couple of guys on this site have some stuff in the works.

Mike Lewis and Mark Jones for sure....handful of others I believe as well

Give it some time

The Brodix works good because it has ok low lifts, but its the air speed on these heavy cars that that make them work, now this new 265 AFR head has much more low lift flow than the RR oval port, I believe this will be the head of choice in the future, remember you can make big power with mild cams if you have the right head combination.

781 oval port: .200 171 .300 242 .400 298 .500 319 What kind of power does that make with .550 lift cam?

I'm up for whatever works and works well, instead of the mondo heads that seem to be so popular these days. I've been very impressed with the rr270s and the afr305. Ill keep an open mind on the 265 and 290. Tony, how much will the 265 retail for? Also, is it a factory replacement or does it have raised exhaust and need extra hardware?

I have RR ovals on my 496. I will try to get to the track shortly. Bob's combo in the Green Weenie was my inspiration.

I got the heads from Wolfplace.

Yeah, Bob has probably sold quite a few sets of those race rites for Brodix. Bob, they need to sponsor you :D

Yep, raised exhaust.

Reading these posts makes me feel good that I bought the Brodix RR's a few years back when I wanted to rebuild my 454.I chose the rectangular port version because mine was an original LS-6 crate engine. But the main reason I picked these heads were because everything was in the stock location, and they were aluminum, and also because I felt that Brodix was a quality head, and reasonably priced.

Some folks like the Brodix RR simply because the exhaust port is in the correct spot. The downside is that a better head is possible with the stock exhaust location.
