I just did a back to back with these heads stock to fully ported. They were much better than advertised stock and ended up at 385cfm fully ported. I'll grab the numbers tomorrow and post them up for all to see. These were on a 540 pump gas deal that is getting dyno'd next week. I'll get those numbers up too.

and you dont think the exhaust side can be worked on racerites to get the same numbers as your tbi heads? I bet there's a guy in Colorado that can get close to those numbers ;)
Actually, I'm not sure that he can or can't. My cylinder head guy preferred the Eddy's.

Race Rite ovals - flow stock vrs fully ported. They used the stock valves and are on a 540 with a .680" roller that gets driven everywhere and ran 10.50's with them stock. I think 10 flat might be a possibility with and aggressive tune and loose converter. I'll post dyno numbers when it goes on the pump.

Mike,
What is the volume (cc) of the ported version?

You mean there is still a company in this country that under-promises but over-delivers?

unheard of :hurray: :hurray:

Thanks Mike. Do you think it only ran 10.50's because the heads were a bit small for the 540? I've managed a best of 9.98 to date @ 505 cubes. I might have my suspension/converter dialed in a bit better ;)

My heads are stock, no port work at all. As they came from Brodix thru Mike Lewis.

Mine hasn't run a 9.98 but runs pretty darn good and still getting faster. I also have stock RR's from Mike Lewis. What is interesting is when I posted my new combo with the cam and heads that Mike Lewis set me up with, many responded with "completely mismatched combo"

Mike must of knew something that others didn't. Seems most are wanting AFR's. I did too but the RR's were a better match according to Mike with the stuff I already had. Yeah they don't flow much but Mne hits the rev limiter at 7100 with no issues and never stops pulling.

The Brodix racerites are as straight a bolt-on item as you'll ever buy. I am extremely pleased, yet with the numbers posted by Mike, there is a few more ponies in there that could be unleashed. I was more concerned with header fitment using heads with raised exhaust ports. I am happy with the performance too. I dont want to have to license or add monkey bars at this time :D

AFR 305's don't have header fitment issues. The port is barely raised.
Combo combo combo. I'm probabally not utilizing my AFR's to their potential due to my low 9.4:1 CR. Plus mine are 7 years old now.
I have never run my car in mine shaft conditions.
Although I have been 1.37 in 60ft, never been a 1.32 like Bob does.
I don't think Bob ever went near 134 either.
Combo combo combo....engine, trans and car.
Note mine is a street driven car with a full exh with tailpipes.

Not to get in a debate again. Ron you have a bad arse car but a 69 Nova is several hundred pounds less weight than Bobs Chevelle. A Nova is a light car. A chevelle is a heavy car. The two are comparing apples and oranges. However, comparing a stock AFR and A stock RR on the same engine would be a neat comparison plus the streetability. My car sees 70 mile round trips and never gets above 180. Even with a vic jr and spacer it has great street manners.

what does your nova weigh? I weighed mine with an all iron bbc and a 16 gallons of gas, steel wheels, and it weighed in at 3249 Without driver. what does yours weigh?

Nova Big Blocks are usually 3-400 lbs lighter than the chevelle with the same options. Usually, not always. Makes a significant difference in ET.

Hey Delbert & Bob,,,
Thanks for the mention & for choosing us to help a little I do appreciate it :beers:

It's nice to see you have returned to the drag racing world Mike.

I am at 3600lbs with me in it. Bob can tell us what his weighs.
Made into race cars with cages and all that, they aren't much different.
Chevelle has a full whimpy frame, the Nova needs subframe connectors Maybe 100 lbs diff, but it depends. Mine has a full 12 pt mild steel cage.

A straight up comparisson between the two heads on the same short block? You will never see it in a magazine. Perhaps Wolf can comment.

Street manners? No one will ever agree on that. I'll drive mine anywhere, and other than uncomfortable, it has no issues. Great throtte response, smoke the tires at will, in cool weather never gets above 170. Hot weather, never above 200, but I don't have a fan shroud. I also don't have an electric water pump, or electric fans. The street car issue will never be settled.

My car was in good tune when I ran high nines, it needs freshining now, and it has 3.73. Will still go bottom tens. Bob can tell you how much his varies from hot to cold out.

Ron
