It's sad to hear Rachel, I'm very fortunate to still have mine around, but he's getting up in years, so I know the inevitable is coming, and it saddens me. I can't help but to feel a bit of your pain.....my prayers are with you!

hey rach, i remember when i lost my pop, you try to prepare yourself as much as possable, but it still hits hard. i remember calling the house and his voice was still on the machine, that's when it hit....

take it easy, and have a nice weekend......

Thanks so much ya'll....means so much to me,
i was thinking about him earlier and remembered once he had to use my Bronze '69 Charger cause his car was in the shop. I told him to be careful and start slow cause she was fast and it was hot..he might burn rubber.
He was always giving me **** for tearing up the tires :D
Said just cause gas was cheap did I think tires were???
well yeah, duh Dad.
anyhooo.....I showed him where everything was, he said I taught YOU how to drive young lady, i reminded him I had Drivers Ed...then he took the keys and proceeded to burn the tires like ther was no tomorrow! He was smoking in the church parking lot...yup the same church hes going to be memorialzed in next week :D he called me when he got to work and said "You know that was fun but i liked to pee'd my pants!" he then proceeded to tell me that car had wayyy too much power for me.
The poor man never got it did he? LOL
He was so proud of me with Butter Cup....he loved all the pics and the magazine article and all.
yup...we is going for a ride.:hurray:

Most times ya'll are better than the real thing!!!

I am sorry for your loss but just look back on all the great times you had with him and that will help you thru the hard times.

Sorry to hear about your dad. It has been decided that when my dad dies im going to put his urn in the passenger of that Chevelle, open a cold beer, and do a giant tire roasting burnout. :D But I hope to not have to do that for a long time.

Sorry to hear about your dad, but as said, with the amount of pain he had been in he is in a better place.

That said it's never an easy thing to lose someone you love.
Our parents raise us, nurture us, place bandaids on our boo boos, give us their love, their exoeriences and teach us right from wrong. They love us unconditionally and watch as we grow up and eventually leave the nest.
They are our heros, our mentors and our guides throughout our lives.

The nice thing is, we have all of those memories to cherish for the rest of our lives.

Rachael, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

We are, in a pseudo way your extended family and are here for you.
