I get 12mpg with a crate GM 350, 600 holley, TH350 and 2.73s. I tell people it's not fast enough to get that low mileage. Of course my heavy size twelve might have something to do with it...

Mine is on my license plate..

My 70 has gotten a best of 12 IF I keep my foot out of the throttle. That's with a mildly built 454, TH400 2200 Stall, and 3.73 geared 12 bolt.

My 69 Malibu bone stock 307 2 BBL, Powerglide, and 2.73 geared 10 bolt peg leg....13 if I'm lucky.

not tryin to jack this thread, just answering a couple questions.

yup, USAF. Actually Turkey is not a scary place. driving here is a bit nutz at times, but the roads are not that bad overall, and the autobahns are better than the freeways in the states. add to that they don't really enforce the speed limit on the autobahn at all. so i am gonna have some fun as soon as i get my tko 600 installed. believe it or not, i met a group of turks the first day i had my car here (another GI saw my car, he actually took notice when he heard it!) and told me "i have some guys you have to meet". took me to their garage and these guys have a '65 chevy truck with 454 and hydroboost disc brakes. also a '73 camaro with 489 with lunati and scat components (that one needs a good set of heads to really bring it to life though), a '78 malibu with a 7,500 rpm 350 with 2 stages of NO2, and a really nice '77 vette with a body kit, but mostly stock. several other cars too. they do good work as well. they even have datalogging GPS units and some nice air/fuel ratio gages setup on a couple cars as well as stand alone engine management running their newer turbo'd stuff. i was kinda blown away to meet these guys. nice guys too. crazy part is that they pay almost 3 times stateside prices for every part they buy. check them out @ http://project01.net/

.gas is $10/gal off base. i got a good deal though. they installed a chip on the filler neck so i can fill anywhere in the country and pay the same price as it is on base ($4.xx) and it is billed directly to the credit card i have through the bx (got that card specifically for that purpose alone). I think it is 89 octane on base, but they dont list it, so it is hard to know for sure. mine will not run on less than 93, so it gets a can of octane boost with each tank fill. off base they have all 3 grades + diesel and lpg. but octanes are european octanes, and are different, so again, not sure. in addition to the chevy, the wife drives a nice lifted '71 bronco. we brought that with us as well. done some serious wheelin in that one already.

Specs are pretty much in my sig. 2.73 highway gear.
