Sweet! How much difference did they make in power?

3 bolt flange or a ball and socket
both kind of ;) This might be where the confusion is. They are "ball and socket" but also have the 3 holes rings.

The real difference is that ball/socket doesn't require any gasketing. The traditional 3 bolt flat flange does. I think that's what is being asked here.

While pricey, I haven't seen a better header than Lemons. I mean, they actually fit and the quality is second to none. On your build I would just bite the bullet and call Dan at Lemons.

For a race car, I have headers built on the car. at this point, I feel it's the only way to go. But for this car.. it's a stocker, I'm not worried about pulling out every last hp. If this thing runs 14's I'd be shocked! (I'll never know.. it'll never see the track)

For whatever reason I thought this was a race car.
I had custom headers on my 66 for my 500 incher. They are ice but not as nice and certainly not as easy to R&R as my current set of Lemons. Did I mention they are pricey though?:|

It's all in who builds the headers for sure!! If anyone is in the East.. I HIGHLY recommend Robbie at Outlaw Headers in Mooresville, NC. The guy is amazing!! I had him do a stainless steel set for a 9.8 deck BBC in a fox body mustang, 2 1/4" - 2 3/8" step with 8 egt's and O2's in the 4.5" collectors. Bottom exit.. Headers installed from the top, I could change a set of plugs in about 10 minutes, and could swap a starter out without removing a tube.

For a small block the Dynatech Musclemaxx I went with fit great. Way better than the Hedman ceramic coated that were on the 355. Surprised how easy the 1-3/4 installed.
