Will I be ok without a forged crank for my build?

Hey guys just wondering if I will be fine with a standard 454 2-bolt crank in my build. I just dont have the cash to put a forged one in (I have the original crank that came with the motor). Also I have a brand new set of stock rubber type big block engine/tranny mounts, will these be fine? Dont really want to have to shell out another c-note for poly mounts. Thanks for the input, Mike.

My build:

454 ci 10.5-1 compression, Arias forged lightweight pistons, Ibeam forged rods, 781 ported oval port heads, Harland Sharp 1.7 Roller Rockers, Competition Cams XS282S Solid Cam (.590/.598 244/252@.050), Edelbrock RPM Airgap2 Oval Port Intake, Holley 850 DP, Mallory Unilite Distributor, 12 Bolt with 3.73 gears and a B&M Nitrous Holeshot 3000 converter in my TH400.

how hard are you going to run it? using NO2 with that converter? you should be OK with the crank as long you are reasonable with it.

the left front motor mount will be destroyed immediately, buy an interlocking poly mount for that spot, the others are OK unless you're planning some hard launches in reverse. :)

What is the operating range of that cam? From the specs it looks like you will be under 6000 mostly. . I have heard of a lot of examples of BBC cast cranks taking a lot of abuse..so save the money for a 496 etc forged roatating assembly..

I agree with Tom, how hard you gonna run it Mike? The rest of the pieces are above mild in my mind and you are going to set the crank as the weakest link. Cast cranks will take more than they're given credit for but if it were mine I'd search out a deal on a good forged one but I perfer to error on the side of caution. It's one of those pay me now or pay me later deals to me....JMO...Dave

No nitrous guys, operating range 2500-6800. I do drive my cars hard on ocassion, I dont beat it, but it will get to the strip two or three times a year with drag radials on it. I guess when a person says "how hard are you going to run it", hard but not abused would be my response. Redline once or twice a day when I drive it, and I do put 5000-7000 miles per summer. I am planning on keeping this motor for years to come and really want it to last. Will I be ok with the stock crank?

Big Block Chevy 2 Bolt blocks, cast cranks with 3/8's truck rods. If you have a good machinest and careful preperation they will work fine.
There are a lot of super stockers out there running with this set-up.
Much easier on the budget IMO.

I run a cast crank with a 2 bolt main in a 439 that sees over 6K at least once a month on the strip with no issues. I do have studded mains and the rotating assembly is balanced.

Run it! I giggle when I see other threads where guys suggest high dollar stuff for this or similar combos. I have a BBC 2 Bolt block (studded) cast crank with 3/8's truck rods. Dyno'd 549 in 1998 with 049's and have Darts on it now Hit it with NOS 6600 shifts, 7000 when I'm late. 4100 pounds, 3500 stall, let it EAT with no worries.
