Well Von, let me see if my memory will let me quote from the movie "Field of Dreams" starring Kevin Kostner (Ray Kensella) and James Earl Jones (Terence Mann).

Remember when Ray was in Terence's apartment trying to kidnap him? Well, Terence went after Ray with a crowbar and was saying something like this - "Rules? Oh no, there are no rules here." ;)
From Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid: "Rules? In a knife fight?" BAM!:D

I might have to see if I can try this chevellabration race thing! I bet I can get into the 15s lol. Well maybe not. The 2.56 rear end sure isn't going to help, and the fact the last time i was on a drag strip was like 1974.
Your in luck, music city raceway is a 1/8th mile track, you can definitely run faster than 15. :D Although the 2.56's are really going to go against you on a short track.

1/8 mile? what is the point? I want to go the whole 1/4 dang it.

I would bet money I have driven one of the slowest 1/4 miles of anyone herethat was legit, by that Imean the car was actually running the entire time!.

Back around 74 I took a old Ford Econoline Van with a 6 popper down the track, ran a 27 flat 1/4 mile! The thing would hang up trying to shift from 1st to 2nd, take you a little to get there lol I would have trophied too if the rain had not come!

I'd also like to take a shot at 'dreis454' on a fantasy cruise to CT from the west coast!
George,you don't want none of this!:noway::D

Of all the people I passed, you were the most fun to beat. :D

I'm really looking forward to meeting up with "Scotch" at the autocross track next spring... hope to compare times, and I'd be willing to swap cars for a run or 2 if he is. :) QUOTE]

He is.

You just want to beat up on a helpless old 4-door wagon with a small-block, don't ya? You masochist!

I want to get out to the dragstrip too. I know I can run 11.99 on a good day (traction, shift points, etc) and I'd like to prove that.

I've got a blue bottle if I need it. I will go 11s (or better) in the wagon.

There's a couple other local guys I'd like to see out there, too.

As far as guys I'd like to meet up with from TC who aren't local...

...I'd love to run PDQ67 and Lou Merrell. Dragstrip, road course, Auto-X, whatever.

I'd say FancyBoy too, but he probably doesn't have a Chevelle.

Hell Yeah Mark,

Two rare Chevelles going at it. I'm there!

I also have an appointment with Kenny's tri-power 427 67 convertible.

My only problem will be getting those Polyglas' to stick!

I think it would be fun to spank an LS6 with my 66 L72 Vette

That's pretty sad, lol. I thought my 86 Cutlass running 19.40's was bad when it was still bone stock with the 307.
I watched a semi run 20.20's in the 1/4 once, lol.

I think it would be cool to set up some match races at Music City Raceway at CB09. Kind of like a Pinks setup. We pretty much have the track to ourselves so I think it would be feasible.

No, I just want to drive it. :D I'll have my chance to battle you on the go-karts in January.

You'd have to resist the urge to run him over. ;)

Mike Murphy, a battle of the big block 71's. Although I would have to give him a little advantage, 454 vs 402. Maybe he could spot me two car lengths in the 1/4 :)

Johnny Hunkins -

And I'll even wait for him to get his ride all sorted out, whadda ya say John??????
