What about a tru-trac unit? I love mine and there is a local guy running one in a nova with a blown 540 and he likes it too.
I am running the tru-trac in mine and have no complaints, but I think with that kind of power I woud start looking at a spool.
Not trying to derail the OP's thread but if you guys have ever had to get off the throttle and back on again, have you noticed the True Trac wanting to pull the car one way or the other? I am considering one for my stick car but given the way the unit applies power to the wheels, I wondered if there'd be any issues trying to keep it straight when shifting?

Not at all, my buddies 6 speed camaro with a Locker does though.
 
moroso brute strength in a 12 bolt with c clips will hold up just fine!!
I have a Moroso Brute Strength in my car. I have a little more the 600hp and I was told the Moroso unit is even borderline for that hp. Plus, you can only run 30 spline axles, definitely not big enough for 800+ hp...
