I have a 72 chevelle ss, and i know this sounds silly, but I have no clue where the vin # is. could someone tell me where it is? and after I get it, itd be cool if someone could decode it for me... I could also use a website that could tell me who has owned the car before me so I can know who has done what to it.

I doubt if you'll find any website with history of the car unless you find the VIN in a registry somewhere that some previous owner had subscribed to.
