Shift to fall into high TQ number.

do you guys all have manual valve bodies or can you shift a regular old auto cos I was told that an auto will shift where it wants to shift regardless of where the stick is.

can someone shed light on this?

shift kit that reprograms the trans if its left in drive it shifts based on engine vacume and throttle point. but the shifter is pullled down to low or 2nd it will hold the shift till you shift manually just like manual trans only a with a lil slip cause its still an auto trans with a converter.

oh, ok that makes sense. thanks. thats how mine is, except that I want it to shift before it actually shifts. I think its gonna take messing with the governor.

try adjusting the vacume modulater first a 1/8-1/4 turn makes a big difference in the shift point when adjusting them.
