I feel for you !
I have the same problem trying to get 500 pony's to the ground when not stock height.
I was told I need to lower my rear or install anti-hop bars. The problem is my shocks are stock but my tires are 28" tall.
Wonder if I could put the control arm braces on and fix it?????
I will be watching this thread.
Below is my ride height:

Good Luck,

Is it sitting stock height?

Dave
Yes Dave it is stock height, the prev owner had new springs put on it and had the bushings replaced...I would like to lower it thought it seems too high to me..ill try to post some pics as soon as i get them uploaded, give me a minute. ok here you go, see if this helps..

I have air shocks on my car. If I inflate one side just enough to make the car level it spins smoothly. If I raise it a half inch more it hops!! I didn't put the shocks on to raiseit, only to make it level.

Monty. Do you have the stock "U channel" lower control arms?? If so, replace them with "boxed" arms or aftermarket square or tubular arm. If you still have some wheel hop. Add the re-location brackets Dave spoke of...

Yes they are stock,,, there's got to be a better way than those brackets, they look like **** . lowers the sway bar too..
You guys keep talking about height,, if its too high in the back will that make it hop? Can i cut the springs? I would really like to have a hotchkis lowering kit with the big bars but money seems to be an issue. I think the shocks are shot too, its kinda like a boat... i want a stiff suspension...

Mine was wheel hopin so bad it looked like the car was putting one tire in front of the other walking..lol I cant believe it didnt tear the rearend out from under it. I put the edlebrock no hop bars on it which move the upper control arm position higher forcing the rear end to the ground and have not had any wheel hop since. I also have air shocks on it but only at stock height. Everything else is from the factory.

Try putting stock coils in not cargo with new bushings even factory should not hop with street tires. Some where on this forum has measurement from ground to rocker panell height Years ago went 10.99 with stock arms bushings and monroe gas shocks 28 - 10.5 MT. If your not racing I dont believe you need to spend more than cost of correct springs

there is new springs on it now.......

Yes, higher than stock rear end will cause wheel hop because of the angle on the control arms. That is why they make no-hop bars that change the angle of the upper control arms and also the lower control arm relocation brackets. They both change the angle of the control arm intersection point to plant the rear end.

Control arms it is... i guess i will get adjustable ones so when i do lower it i can adjust the pinion angle...Thanks guys... Hey one more thing, since i dont like the height of my new springs would it be to shade tree to cut the springs to lower it a little.......IF i mess them up i can always buy the lowering springs like i plan on doing anyway...i also need some good stiff shocks , any recommendations on that too?

This may not help you any as far as info, but when I had my 700r4 in my car it bounced around like crazy trying to do a burn out. I switched to a turbo 400 (which has a shorter driveshaft) and also installed a poly tranny mount. I did nothing to the suspension, and now It's never hopped. It slides sideways to the left rather nicely:D, but no hop.
