I have to go 4-5 months every year for winter. I would drive it every single day if i could.

We all have different approaches as for having a muscle car. For me it´s all about driving it. I like modifying it and take it for a spin as fast as possible. I drive it to work and visit my friends with it.
If it breaks down, I`m willing to put myself in debth just to get it running again as fast as possible. When it´s not running I feel miserable.
The 3500 I used on getting it back on the road in three weeks after a 12bolt breakdown is a good example.
6 days investigating what´s the best rearend out there for me, deciding between company, 9" vs 12bolt, where to find the best deal, and then 10 days for shipping and the rest getting it in there.

It does break down a lot, I should have bought a better car because now I can´t part with it. It´s a part of me now.. haha sounds pathetic I know LOL

My '66 SS hasn't been driven since October 1985!

Broke a ring and started using a quart of oil every 10+ miles, so I parked it, tore it apart figuring I'd do a "restoration" over the winter...

Life got in the way... Fixed up my other Chevelle to drive, then sold it and bought my '66 convert... Moved a few times, restored a '66 El Camino (factory 396 car), eventually started working on my convertible, went to college, eventually moved a few more times, got married, had two kids, bought a house... Sold the convertible and bought the '70, been working on that...

Saving up money and pieces for the '66...

I swear, I am going to start on it this next Spring/Summer, as soon as I iron out a few issues with the '70... But really, it may be a few more years...

Well only a couple of hours until I get off work. Then its back on the interstate. whoo whhoooooo.

Bought our one Chevelle new in '69 and put it away in the fall of 1977. Should be out again in the next couple of years but I'm not holding my breath. I'm like Tony. Other things got in the way like building a house, work and raising kids. Bodyshops have been my nemesis with this car. I am beginning to think that fate isn't allowing me to finish this project.

A billion miles. That's how long I have not driven it. l:)

From October 98 to June '01 to do the body & paint, since then it gets tore apart every couple years for upgrades, but hasn't gone more than a year off the road.

Bought my '69 in the fall of 1985. I drove it for 5 years before I had to park it in the fall of 1990 when I went back to school. Fortunately I had a place to put it out of the elements where no one would bother it. One afternoon after a final cruise I pulled it inside, shut it off, locked the doors, and that was that.

It sat until 2001 when I drove back to Virginia from Wyoming to get it. Two years later it was running again, but the highly recommended guy who did the transmission did a horrible job. It slipped during shifts and going around corners. During this same time he went out of business and closed his shop. I got frustrated and the car sat for another 4 years- had a girlfriend at the time who hated old cars so that didn't help either- woops.

Got rid of the girlfriend and got the Chevelle going again and have been driving it for the last 2 years. Slowly fixing all of the little things, and I make sure it STAYS RUNNING. If something breaks I fix it immediately. All other fun stuff/hobbies/hanging out stops until it is going again. It is far too easy to get lazy and let a non-running project sit. A month turns into 6, then a year and well, you get the idea.

I'll have to put her away in a couple of weeks for the winter, but I've driven it 1,600 miles since late April.

So far my 66 hasnt been driven since 2005. Seems every time I get close to putting some money into it. Something comes up. This time. Im planning to go back to school.

I learned my lesson years ago when I was very young and stupid. My 67 died on me so I figured I would just park it untill I had time to fix it back up. I had to leave it sit outside and one thing lead to another to where it sat way to long and rusted up real bad to the point where I sold it. Since that day all the other 67s I have had any little thing goes wrong its fixed NOW and back on the road. I dont go through them like I use to I have had this one around 18 years now and dont have any plans on ever selling it. This car seems like its actually a part of me.
Ya know, the story on my '69 was sort of like this, except the ending was much worse. I guess the car sat from the end of 2003 until it was stolen in 2007. It would get started once or twice a year during that time, though. Don't know if I'll get another chance to care for another one. :(

From 1978-2004....26 years:D
As of NOW it has 18,600.1 miles on the ODO.

Ive had my car for a couple years now and and I only drive it maybe once a month to the local cruise-in. I had it for about 8 months before I got into the accident, down in the body shop for full body makeover for almost a year then back home for a few months before it was put back together. Once I get the gas gauge working and it cools down outside a little bit, Ill be driving it much more (I think).
