There is no law that says you can't beat the snot out of a real LS6 car either. Guys didn't buy 450 factory horses when they were new to baby them around. They bought them to go fast. Or at least that's what the guys I know did. I know I would drive the wheels off of it if I had a real LS6 car.
There's a difference in the income to value ratio that impacts the decision to flog a hundred thousand dollar vehicle. A guy making $10,000 a year could buy and flog a new $5000.00 car with a liberal factory warranty.

The cost of living took up a smaller percentage income for food and especially shelter. Young men of the Vietnam generation usually didn't make long range plans. Muscle cars were typically bought by young people with fewer obligations. They could flog it, scatter it and when the warranty was out, they could get half their money on the used market.

A better comparison might be to look into the number of people earning $200,000/year who are in the market for $100,000 cars to flog, especially when there's a potential loss of 75% of the value.

Two entirely different worlds, there's very little comparison.

How much of a real LS6 is this clone? I would venture to say, and I could be wrong, that even a lot of restored LS6 cars don't have the specs on internals that help make it an LS6 engine.

If it's a 454 with 4-bolt main block, square port heads and Holley (and is the Holley a correct LS6 carb), is the compression under, what 12.5 for LS6, with a solid lifter cam? If you're looking for a driver, maybe this isn't the car to have in today's world.

I gotta ask, why you want a ls6..??? yes they are top dog, but no one drives them, wait let me reword that, no one drives them hard.
for way less than 55k you can get a bbc chevelle with a/c and a stick(if you just have to have a man pedal) change to a roller cam, and make more power than that real deal or cloned ls6..
only reason I can think of, to want a ls6 is the "look at me" at the shows.
if you're open to a clone, then get a mid 20's clean bbc car and rebuild the engine for 600hp and beat the living hell out of it, having a ball with a smile ear to ear..

I would rather have an LS5 car with a 4 speed and air but in that same color combo, Fathom blue with white stripes and white interior. I know that's a tall order.
