Depends on who you get it from. A std small or big block chevy cam is usually $340-375

Things that add to the cost
1) small base circles
2) 4/7 firing order swap
3) 4/7 & 2/3 firing order swap
4) 50mm and 55mm cores
There are some others that add cost but for the most part you have them listed there

I paid alittle over $400 to the door for a hyd roller with a cast dist gear. Some of the cost was to pay for the cam designers work to spec it to my combo.

I got one august first and it was $340 shipped to my door with iron gear from wolfplace it is on a comp cans core. billet solid roller by the way. check sig for specs.

If you get a cam through me from Lunati, most run around $350-360, all steel billet with cast iron gear, including small base circle. They charge extra for 4/7 swap, etc, and non-standard sizes.
If you get one through me from Custom Camshaft Company, they run $400, steel billet, with or without cast gear, 4/7 swap, and up through 50mm. Larger core sizes, 4/7-2/3 swap, will have extra charges. We do make cams through 70mm.
All their cams are ground on the Landis 3L CNC cam grinder, the Rolls-Royce of cam grinders, and then 100% inspected against cutting data, etc, on an Adcole. You get the NASCAR treatment, and your money's worth.
Sometimes they are a little slow, making cams for us is in at least 3rd place with them, behind Dodge(they are an engine-development company for Dodge), behind their NASCAR customers(most or all of the Dodges in the NASCAR Truck Series run their cams/my designs). Right now things are going fast with them.
I generally do the design for free if I don't have the right design already---I have hundreds of solid rollers already there---and Lunati is adding 10-15 a month, solids, rollers, hydraulic rollers, hydraulics, most of which are made on their Landis. Others are made on their Bercos, just like the ones I had at UltraDyne.
I'm pretty good on picking the right lobes for everything from the 12s to the high 6s in the quarter mile. Give me a call if I can help you.

You still have not answered the most important question
What kind of cam :D
Everyone is assuming a roller
I am sure Harold can & will give you a decent cam recommendation but it helps to know what you want,, ;)

solid ft & solid roller..........i might go either 1:D
CAN U PICK A CAM......4 MY COMBO...:D
Jay,
Yes but will need the build, rpm, and flow numbers on the heads.

Jaywill,

BBC off-the-shelf Voodoo roller cams are under $335, roller lifters, $330 to $345 for horizontal bar and vertical bar lifters, springs about $330. In other words, about $1,000 for steel billet roller cam with EverWear Gear, decent roller lifters, and proper valve springs.
A BBC VooDoo solid lifter cam and matching solid lifters runs a little over $220.
The Voodoo solid lifter profiles have identical .050 duration values as the VooDoo roller profiles, but less valve lift, naturally. They are very aggressive profiles, with a wide band of torque.
Rollers make more power, but they cost more. The VooDoo solid lifter profiles match or beat other cam companies street rollers.......
