OR, if you're referring to a parts supplier, it's New Old Stock. That means that the parts may be thirty years old, but they were never installed. New parts, old stock.

Isn't that an oxymoron?
How can something be New and Old at the same time.I call it New Original Stock if it's Vintage 30 years old,although it is more popular by New Old Stock.This is the most misunderstood word in our hobby today.Guys buy items from Chevrolet today and call the parts NOS.

When in fact they are OEM:Original Equipment Manufactured.

NOS, New old stock.
A new part, that has been in stock for a long time.
New, meaning never been sold or installed.
Old, meaning made years ago.

NOS = New Original Stock
NOS = New Obsolete Stock

Meaning a part that has been discontinued by GM (or Ford, Dodge etc), not being made anymore. Unsold parts that still exist in dealer parts inventories or in the hands of customers.
