I used my dads 1970 caddy coupe deville 472, th400, posi!

A 1965 VW Bug in 1981. I bought the car from my Grandfather for $600. The darn thing had a 6-volt electrical system -- Just hope you didn't need to drive anywhere at night in the rain when you had to have the headlights and wipers going at the same time -- couldn't see 10 feet past the front of the car!

In 1986, I tested in my Grandfather's 67 442. 400, 4 Speed, Posi and Chambered Dual Exhaust. I still have Grandpa's 442. She just turned 73,000 miles.

Tested in a 1970 Pontiac Catalina 350 2 barrel...non posi! (Mom's car)

On a slightly different twist...what did everyone drive in Drivers Ed?

I had a choice between a 1978 Malibu, 1978 Ford Fairmont and 1978 Plymouth Volare:sad:.

I chose the Ford Fairmont because it had the 302...that thing would fry the "right rear tire" forever...LOL

Our PE Coach was also our drivers ed teacher...and part of our in car practicing would involve going by Clock Liquor on Euclid in Anaheim, Ca. (it's still there...LOL) so the teacher could pick up his liquid lunch.

My how times have changed....

Coral over silver grey 1955 chevrolet 2Dr Hardtop. 283 with 3 speed on the floor and a set of the original glass packs. Passed the first time.......but I shouldn't have.

In NY State at that time you had to mail your learners permit to the DMV for a test date/time to be scheduled. I drove to the test (without the permit in my possesssion) and the examiner saw us arrive. When I was done with the driving test he told my S-I-L that he should have failed me on the spot for driving to the test. One of the benefits of having a HOT S-I-L I guess.

I drove a new 70 Dart Swinger 6 cylinder for drivers ed. Tested in Mom's 67 Impala SS, 283 powerglide.

Mom's '63 BelAire, 6-cyl, Powerglide, manual brakes and steering. The parallel parking was a PIA with that heavy steering, especially for a skinny little punk like me!!:(
If my memory's right (l:)) that car didn't have seat belts.

Our drivers ed car.

We drove a brand spanking new 1957 all black four door radio delete, six banger :D three speed on the column, we would catch some of the two tracks and look for fish in the creeks, pretty cool teacher.
