What year?
1973 and earlier don't need the smog check in Cali.

Don`t take this the wrong way because I don`t mean any disrespect but what difference does it make what year it is? I wouldn`t be asking if the cam was smog legal if I had a vehicle that didn`t require smog. Also, I`m pretty sure that it`s up to 1976 now if I remember right but my truck is a 1984 so it doesn`t matter what the cut off is because unfortunatly I don`t fit in under the time line.

I don`t have a way to measure the AFR and I don`t have the money to go buy one. That would`nt help me anyway since they put the engine under load and run it at 15mph and 25mph.

 

It should.. I've heard that you want to stay under 224 @ .050. But it also depends on the shop and tech that does the inspection. I've seen vehicles that passed with a much bigger cam than that..

 

Thanks. I`m hoping it will because I think thats the cam I`m going to go with. Either that or one of Comps 4X4 extreme cams with similar specs. I do have a buddy who is a smog guy but if I ever get sent to a test only he can`t help me.
