I need a can that provides about 14-16° advance so I can get about 52° at cruise (36+16=52). Maybe I should get a 14° so If I end up going back to 38° total I have some room.

Many cans (probably most) are 16º but the start rate varies. For example; a B28 can is fully deployed at a lower vacuum than a B26 can though both provide 16º max. Different dealers use different part numbers but the B28 can is NAPA #VC1810. In most cases the B# is stamped on the shaft of the canister.
The vacuum level is much more critical... you can make up a travel limiter to reduce the amount of advance if you need to. All it takes is a 1/2" strip of stainless from the hobby shop bent into an L shape and cut to the right length.
Or get the fancy little Crane eccentric cam vacuum advance adjuster.
