I have a pair of Strange axles that I used for drag racing with a spool. I am now building a street car and want to use the same axles. First I need to cut 1 inch off the long axle so it will fit in the Auburn (sp?) differential.

There is a sticker on the axle that says for off road drag racing only. I called Strange Engineering they said over time the flange could break off because of side loading.

Is there any one else who has used race axles on the street?

Strange axles are heat treated all the way through where street axles are case hardened. This makes the race axles brittle and they may break. Street axles will give some and not break. Moser axles are case hardened.
