I must be getting weak. I bought a Pontiac. Well it does have a Chevy Engine in it though.

Am I forgiven?

Actually, I'm just going to be the lien holder on it. Picked it up for a friend whose daily driver cratered and couldn't afford to repair it. It was on it's last legs anyway. He might get 2 or 3 hundred dollars for it at the scrap yard.

Well, here it is - a nicely restored 86 Trans Am. Still needs some cosmetic work but mechanically mostly new parts - drivetrain and suspension.

305 gutless wonder with a 700R4. All the crossfire throttle body stuff removed - now an Edelbrock.

a buddy in high school had the same paint scheme. Atleast it has the 700R4 I always liked it, but his brother had the GTA and that was better

"restored" '86? What is the world coming to? Of course, when I was 20, a 30 year old car was a '56 Bel Air.... Interesting when you look at it like that. When I was 6, a 40 year old car was a '32 Ford. When I was 16, a 40 year old car was a 66 Chevelle. Now, a 40 year old car is a Mustang II. Yikes.

Our Chevelles are what the 30s and 40s cars were to our parents. (well, for us post-boomer, pre Gen Xers anyways. Some of you old guys would have a different opinion :D) In 1990 when the '40 Ford turned 50, it was a big deal. Will it be a big deal next year when the 64 Chevelle turns 50?

One of my best friends had the identical 86 TA except his had the stock wheels on it and was a 350 TPI car. Boy he destroyed that car, what a shame. I had a 92 Camaro Z/28 25th anniversary at the same time, that was around 1995 or so.

I recall he borrowed the car to his sister. She was on ice and backing up, the car started spinning the wheels so she opened the door to look. Right then it grabbed and went backwards, the door hit a post and bent back and hit the fender. That was the end of that car for him.
