NAPA has the correct ones in both lines, NCP and Master Ride

I have also been looking for the tie rods that have the grease fittings pointing toward the middle of the car. Everyone I have called has told me they don't make them anymore and all of them come with the grease fitting in the back now. If they are available I would like to know where to find them.

There is no way they have been stopped being made. It would be IMPOSSIBLE to grease them if they were made any other way.

I got mine from Ground-Up.
Thanks Bill, I ordered a set this morning. For some reason the vendors around here and few that I called don't seem to know there are available I guess. I have probably ordered 4 sets now and sent them back trying to find them. Even the first set I got from ground up were wrong when I started this project three years ago.

Dan,

All you need to do before going to the parts store and spending more $$ is look at the tie rod ends. If the OUTER tie rods have the grease fitting pointing TOWARDS THE GROUND, they are correct.
If the inner tie rods have the grease fittings pointing horizontally towards the middle of the engine crossmember, they are correct.
They will appear to be close to the frame if there is no engine installed. Remember, a big block weighs in the vicinity of 800 pounds....that's alot of compression on the suspension thusly causes the rest of the components to move. Tomorrow, I will snap a pic of the steering linkage under my 70 so you can see how it will set once the car is completed.
Tom,

Looks like I have the wrong inners....

I have the same setup. Grease fittings towards frame. A set of 90 deg. fittings took care of that problem. I have to agree with Bill Rose's first post. Open a can of spinach and tighten them things down more. :D

I had to open several boxes all marked with the same p/n to find the correct ones. They were also moogs.

Even if there was more room for clearance once the motor was in it would be really hard to regrease them if they were towards the back of the car. I'll see if I can find a set of the old? (i guess there the older ones) style somewhere with the fittings on the sides.

So I went back to where a I got the tie-rod ends and he called around all over the place trying to find the ones with the fitting pointing inwards and the only place he found some in California. Don't know what brand or anything they are since they were in clear bags but they work.
