74 Chevy Cheyenne Super 10 pickup with a 350/350 restored, in the past two weeks I am getting a click then about a one second delay before the starter engages. Soleniod is engaging and the starter is engaging but there is the click/delay. Both are about five years old. Any ideas?????

Sounds like you have a burned spot on the internal contacts.
You can either take the solenoid apart and clean it or just replace the whole solenoid.

Cost free and easy to disassemble the solenoid and smooth the disk with a file.
Turn the free post or file it.
File the other post.
Re-assemble and it will work.

While you have it down, take a look at the starter brushes too.
