we tore the engine down and freshened everything up, wen't to install heads and 3 head studs pulled out of block stripping the holes..we repaired the holes and tried to install heads again and another one pulled out....looks like i'll be using my other 396 block. I just don't know if I want to by new pistons since it is standard bore or if I should keep my L2287f60's and bore the other block .60 over. Boring the block is free and I don't really want to buy new pistons and scrap these I have now.. What do you guys think...Save the block or bore it to the MAX????:yes::noway:

just helicoil the threads ,ive seen this happen on many blocks ! they are getting old !

been using a time-sert kit which is better then helicoil and is alot less prone to leaking. just tired of wasting the expensive head gaskets and no street time.:sad:
