Any of you guys reuse your rear bench seat foam? Mine seems to be reusable for the most part aside from the slight barn smell. If I Febreze the crap out of it you think the smell will overtake the car once done?

I had my upholstery guy re-do our seats in the Chevelle with all new padding, and using the original skins. I didn't find it all that expensive. Our 300 Deluxe seats now feel as nice as our bucket seats in the el Camino. A good upholstery guy is very nice to have around. There always seems to be an old musty smell that comes with age....in the cars that is. Mouse smell is even worse and harder to get rid of. Repadding helps get rid of most of it.

the smell will not likely go away. having an upholstery guy would be the best option, otherwise you could go to a fabric store and buy some thick foam and try to form it your self. when i did my front bench seat, i actually started with a layer of dynamat over the springs and then laid the foam on the dynamat, i think originally the factory used burlap.

I used to recover casino cushions...people deficate urinate and do all kinds of crazy stuff to those poor casino chairs...you have to hit the foam with a high pressure steamer to make the foam expand so that is reusable...the smell of those things would blow your alls minds trust me...

You probably should replace the burlap, foam, and all...but many people just reuse the old maybe adding a 1/2 inch or 1 inch topper over the whole thing...

I've heard of car washing the foam too but I've never personally done that...you'd have to be careful cause that back seat foam is relatively thin and somewhat fragile after all the years as I recall...

Bad thing about foam is it does eventually deteriorate into dust...

uhhhh, I think I'll stand next time I'm in Vegas. I am going to pitch the old foam. I still have burlap and cotton battin gleft over from the buckets so I guess I'll have to hit the fabric store and get somefoam.
Thanks
