I used to have a racing engine business in the northwest, building sprint car motors back in the 80's, rickay7@comcast.net Performance Machine Services. I used your cams exclusively. Well I have an old one that I would like to change into a hydraulic roller for my sons 415 cid sb elcamino.
The original grind was a 298/310 48/20 R8 .930 BC
Could this be reground to provide a 230/240 @.050 duration, mid .500 lift, with 114 LC style
cam.
I also cannot connect to your web site. Am I
out of the loop?
Thank you

Rickay,

Unfortunately, that big of a difference won't go. I'd have to take about .090 off the noses of the lobes, and that will leave you with little or no heat-treat. Same with the LSA, you can't go from 106 LSA to 112 LSA, goes through the heat-treat.
I have lots of hydraulic rollers with .530 valve lift(.565 with 1.6s) that make great power. I see Aaron Kelley is posting here about his 490 BHP 406, and it uses one of my .530 lift hydraulic rollers.
I have taken over cam design at Lunati. Holley wants me to totally replace ALL their existing cam grinds with my new stuff. I have designed over 70 new cams for them, and we are making masters. Unfortunately, the masters so far have been what the Bosses want, and not what I want to do first. But they're all coming, and holley is a nice group of guys to work with. I don't think I could have done any better......
