[Waibel Competition]

I have a 12 bolt rear end and I was told that it is an olds. I have looked it over several time and all I can come up with for casting numbers the following

402227
CFD6
AB
12

If anyone could tell me anything about this I would appreciate it. It is a complete unit minus drums...

includin
factory posi
brake lines and vacuum lines...

any help would be appreciated as we are looking to sell it.

12 bolt cover or 12 bolt ring gear?
Some Olds rear ends have a 10 bolt ring gear with a 12 bolt cover.

will have to check when I go to shop again. Is there a huge difference in them??

What in your opinion would they be worth either way??

Hard to say but I would say it somewhat depends on if it is a true 12 bolt (ring gear) and if it is a sought after gear ratio or not.

The Olds rear end has a smooth cover and the Chevy rear end has a large upside down V stamped into it. The Olds has the axles retained by pressed on bearings and retainers. The Chevy has the axles retained with C clips.
