Just thinking out loud here.

Would one of these video borescopes work for checking piston to valve clearance, or not be precise enough ?

I'm NOT an engine builder but I think the only real way to know is modeling clay from a hobby shop, I paid $1.65 for a motel bar of soap size, going through that issue with my engine but my heads are UN-bolted.

That was for the piston to head clearance (to check the deck height) rather than piston to valve clearance.

How in the heck would one know what the clearance is by observing it?
