Power Window Motor Dead?

I was installing the door glass in my 69SS this morning. I got the glass in and was in the process of lubing the rollers and guides with white lithium grease. I lowered the drivers side all the way down and it quit working. It had been working fine until then, then just quit. I pulled everything out and checked to see if it was a bad wire or switch by hooking the motor up to the connection on the psngr. side, but no, the p/w motor itself was not working. I also cleaned the connections on the motor, but no dice. WTF did I do? The chances of the thing quiting just when I happened to be adjusting the windows are pretty slim, so I must have screwed something up. It was binding a bit while I was adjusting the window, but not enough to cook the motor, at least I don't think so. Any of you guys have any experience with a situation like this? I guess I'll look for another motor, but I don't want to screw that one up also.

I already tried the love tap thing. I think it's screwed. Has anyone ever had one rebuilt or do I have to start searching? NPD has GM originals for the psngr. side but not the drivers. I don't know what the repops are like. I've got a few more GM dealerships to call. Maybe I'll get lucky and find one that's been sitting on the shelf for years. Just might even try E-Bay. I wonder if a p/w motor for an SS396 will be more than one for a Malibu. LOL.

It is one fuse for all p/w's. The passenger side and rears work fine. I wired the motor to a battery charger and it does not work, so it is definitely the motor. I will pull one out of the 1/4s and try it on the driver's door connection just to make sure though. ( easier than removing it from the psngr. door ). I guess I'll have to buy a repop as the GM dealers here say they are no longer available.

Fuse? Does the pass side work? If so, Try the pass motor on the DR side. If it works, replace motor. If not, Start tracing wires.
