Hey guys,
The car is a 454 punched out .060 with a mild comp cam and a 185°t-stat. Auto meter digital gauges and electronic fans that seem to move a lot of air and run constantly. When running down the road it’s happy all day at 180°.
Well last night the wife and I went to Killeen for a brewery guild meeting and had to sit at light for several light changes on Fort Hood street. By the time we sat for ~ 5 minutes the car got up to 210° (and it’s not hot out … like 70 something yesterday evening). Once we pulled into the parking lot and killed the car it wet itself from the overfill reservoir. But not a lot and when I checked later the level was fine.
I’m not sure what to do? It’s got a nice new full sized radiator, appropriate fans, 185° stat, and by all accounts runs great.
Thanks for any thoughts 🍻
