The color is a factory color...in '70 it was Code 55 Champagne Gold and the same color was called Code 55 Light Gold Metallic in '71. Any paint shop should be able to mix it for you. Mine turned out pretty good for what I paid. It isn't really show quailty, more like a good 10 footer. But thats what I paid for and what I expected. The guys name is Randy McWilliams at McWilliams Collision Repair in Statesville.
He was really great to work with except for a misunderstaning on the stripes. But I'm pretty happy with the results.
It was actually Amye (my wife)who suggested the color. I of course wanted RED, uh, uh, uh. But, I'm glad I went with the Gold. I've never seen another gold Chevelle at any of the local shows we go to, and we get a lot of compliments on the color esp. from women. I think it reminds them of jewelry.
