Yelled out in a loud, gruff voice the way Clara Pella would say it ----"Where's the chrome?"

To me, that trend looks tired. I never liked it in the 80's and early-90's and don't I like like it now.
Well, I've always been REAL slow adapting to fashion trends. Shoot, I don't even have any tattoos yet. :D

Me neither. I don't have anything against most tattoos, I just don't want one. Some tattoos are a little too much, "I'll follow this trend because it's popular", but that's the case with almost everything nowadays. I think the sheeple are going to win.

I grew up with these old cars and just can't get into this new styling on older cars. I like my 15" rims, chrome bumpers, some what stock interior and engine compartment but that's just me. :D
I don't mind some of the "modern" touches... I do think that Black one shown on the first page looks pretty sweet, IMO...

Buts its much more than the color or monochromatic treatment..

Looking at the 69 convertible in question, and IMO, the wheel choice and stance look cheap, and to me just scream "thrown together"... But it does look like a very nice car otherwise (went to the website)... Some things that I question: stock "idiot light" dash, stock hood hinges (why not billet or at least painted, chromed, or powdercoated something shiny)...

IMO, the monochromatic look is only going to look good IF it looks highly modified and like a very high performance vehicle (lowered, WIDE tires, larger sway bar, etc)... Some other mods like the modified bumpers help too...

Yeah, those polished grill screws just stand out too much...

missing extra chrome at top of fenders & doors>:)
CORRECT.
Malibu emblem removed.
Bowtie removed from grill.
Cowl Induction hood added.

This is the car when I bought it from Joe (above) in 98. It had it's original 307 and a Saginaw 4sp and 3.08 non-posi 10bolt.
Now it has a SB400, M22W, 2.73 12bolt posi. Oh ya, and an AM-FM stereo from a 72 plus factory cruise.

DZ, let me know when you're ready for another one. I think my '72 M/C is going to be for sale soon. LOL
Do I see SS454 emblems on the front of the rocker moldings???
I'm only interested if it is a 4sp.

Joe,
That is one sharp looking car.Did you do the lobotomy yourself ? ;) or buy it already done, doesn't matter either way it's awesome.
There was another MC vert posted in the WIW forum, I think it was yellow but your's in triple black is stunning !!!!!

When I looked at the underside pics I noticed the trans lines were running right under the starter, what else is just slapped together?, and like everyone said it probably has bondo in the bumpers and in all the normal rusty areas, I really like the black 70 though:thumbsup:

That 69 looks like a plastic 1/25th scale AMT model! My first impression when I see cars like this is it's easier to paint everything than restore... as in chrome, and other brightwork.
But it's your car, do as you please!
