so i just bought a new shortblock (new to me) its been machined and assembled a little over 20 years ago in 86 and its been sitting oiled in a bag ever since. I got a good deal on it so it was hard to pass up. I just wanted to get some input from you guys on how I should go about building up this new motor. And if anybody could help me identify the brand of rods.

010 4 bolt block
.030 with trw forged 2441 pistons (21cc dish)
block decked to zero deck on the pistons
block oringed
it has H beam rods with 7/16 bolts but i'm not sure of the brand. They have "F" casted in all of them at the ends
forged factory crank
unsure of rings/ring gap

Im goin to pull the motor all apart and wash/oil it all up. While its apart i'm going to check ring gaps to make sure they are set right. I can vary on my compression between 7.6:1 and 8:1 depending on what thickness copper head gasket I go with.

comp cams xe274 hyd flat cam 230/236 @.50 .490 lift on a 110lca
cloyes true double roller timing chain
weiand 671 blower
holley 600cfm double pumpers
mallory magnetic breakerless dist
msd digital 6 plus ignition
moroso 6qt oil pan
long tube headers

let me know if anybody has any input on things I should change or do when putting this motor together

I would go with a 112 or 114 lsa on the cam. I would atleast up the valves to 2.02in/ 1.60 or 1.65ex to flow better. everything else looks good to me. this is a street car right? if not I might add a few things

if its a street motor, i would rethink using copper head gaskets, some have had success, but pont. leaks-use some good mls ones
it would respond to some good heads, and a good blower cam-kind of low comp for a 110 cam
