This post all comes in good spirits , but I'm also a very active member of another forum that I won't mention the name of. My issue is that I tend to be a more active poster on the weekend nights than most other times of the week. This is when I usually have the most free time and I'm most into the car stuff. Since joining Team Chevelle I've noticed that the posting averages don't seem to change much on the weekend nights from the rest of the week which I find very nice. I can actually post something, whether it be a question, answer, or whatever, and there's someone still alive out there to post back. My other site is very much the opposite on weekend nights. As a matter of fact, a regular weekend post on Z**.*** is, "Is there anyone out there?" This has gotten old over the past couple of years, namely because it's been me making this post alot in recent months. Not trying to knock my sister forum, but I wish they would step up to the plate and get more mature members who will be there all the time like you guys have been. I'm sure the bottom line here probably boils down to the older Chevelle crowd being home on the weekend and the Z guys being out partying until Sunday afternoon. I've gone both ways and have utmost respect for both sides, it's just nice to finally be in with a bunch of folks who are always there for their fellow members regardless of what day of the week it is. If this is falling on deaf ears I understand completely, but regardlesss I appreciate you guys and gals being there for me whenever I need you or feel the need to help a fellow member. Thanks. Doug.

I think people on TC goof off a lot at their jobs. Not me, of course :)

Either that or they're retired and their Chevelles assemble themselves :)

At least they're here! That is funny, though. If my Chevelle assembled itself it would be a concours show car with the time I've had it....21years.:)

I don't totally understand what Z**.*** means, but I'm glad you like it here. Team Chevelle has alot of members around the world in different time zones. Also, when checking member's profiles, you will find every occupation under the sun.

I too, enjoy going on at night after the kids are in bed, and B.S.ing with the good folks on here. I find if I post late at night, and being on the West Coast, I check the next morning, and often there will be a bunch of replies.

I also concur with your comment about the calibre of this crowd. Perhaps because we are all dealing with often finnicky old cars, we share a common tie that more of the cookie cutter late model group just doesn't understand. I for one have got more done on my '68 since hooking up with this site, than I ever did before.

It's positive reinforcement to give, and get, the odd attaboy.

OK, now I'm pumped. Gotta get home and pull some wrenches tonite.

Great comments. As far as the Z**.*** it's actually an excellent F-Body resource that I would really rather not give the name of since I'm not speaking in the best of it, mostly just in frustration. I still love that site, but since selling my Z28 I do most of my hanging out here. PM me and I'll hook you up to the best Z28 resource on the net if you're interested.

I like this site best because of the complete absence of trash talking.

I've been out of high school a LONG time and I don't like to be talked to like I'm still there. By the same token, I don't like to trash talk anyone. I'd just as soon not say anything (which I often do) rather than talk crap.

If you see my sig line, I'm also really into Oldsmobiles. I belong to several Olds boards including the largest and busiest one. I haven't posted there or even been to the site in over 6 months because of all the bickering, whining, badmouthing, and just general immature behavior. I'm a grown adult and just won't put up with that kind of behavior.

Bottom line is.......... Thanks to the Mods and all the members for a really good, clean, informative, helpful, well-policed board.

This place definiteyl has a good, non threatening feel to it..Im also on another board that sees a lot of traffic. Good source of onfp and lots of noobs I can help. I admit though a lot of times its just me and a couple buddies goofing on eachothers threads at night....SO, Ive tried to tone that down a bit here.
One thing I dont see that I really dig is there isnt any bashing of different Gen Chevelles and Caminos like I see on the other one, we got these cars because we dig them not because of some complex...
Its all bowtie, so its all good.

Being older (not old yet!) and retired I have more time for working on my hobbies but I need more breaks than I used to. As a result I tend to check in on TC more often. I'm glad to see that others are in the same boat. The information I find here tends to be more reliable than a lot of other sites which makes this "THE BEST SITE I'VE FOUND!"

I posted a question on a Dodge board 3 weeks ago and have 50 views so far but not even one reply.
We're probably talking about the same site, Dean. I'll post on there and notice that the thread is 6 months old with two replies. TC rocks. My wife found this board and saved it. It was probably 3 months before I even looked at it. Now, as you know, I can't get away from it.

I for one, am the opposite of you. I only am here during the day, no weekends. I consider it work related, sort of.

I think it's a combination of things:
1-there's 32,000 users. That's a lot of people here. Of them (us), probably only 1-2000 regular posters. Still a lot.
2-The mods keep us calm.
3-we're adults, and when things get out of hand, someone always jumps in-sometimes even before the mods do it.
4-I saw it posted once, and it bears repeating. "It's Al's sandbox. If you don't like it, take your ball and leave". There isn't much toleration for bad stuff.

I like it. Hell, I look forward to it every day. Even gave up on a sister site just becuase it wasn't nearly as active as this one.

I really like this site, and didn't realize how professional and well run this site is until I started visiting another site. I think Chevelle owners are just more down to earth than say Camaro, or TA owners. They tend to be younger, and talk more trash. Not slamming Camaro or TA owners or their sites, I'm just saying I've noticed a difference.

The fact that we have Chevellebration and actually meet each other or have buddies you know that actually know others in other states from travel, that people head to TN from all over and meet face to face plays a big role. Things change when you ACTUALLY know these people. Level of respect changes, effort to respond and actually help changes, etc. Other sites may have small local groups, 5 or so guys that meet up in their dodge pickups or whatever but its never on the level of a CB. Ever.

I may be old, but I still work. Damn! I'll retire one of these days. I love this site. Lately, I've been checking in a lot more. Unlike a lot of businesses, mine slows down for the holidays, which I like. I check in once or twice over the weekend, but more often from the office. Thank God I own the joint. I'm on other sites, too, but this one is getting a lot more of my attention. It's amazing to me how much knowledge there is here.

I love this site too and I am on here ALL the time, mainly 'cause I don't have a life or a job (retired). Definately very well run in comparison to other sites (thanks Al, et al), so much so that I pretty much stay here only. As far as work goes my grandfather used to say about me, "he's not afraid of work, he'll lie down right beside it!"
