I just bought a 2 core (two 1" tubes) aluminum radiator with 2 electric fans and including an aluminum shroud. today on the way home it over heated FAST and blew my lower radiator hose off! thankfully I was only 1 block away from home.
thermostat is a 180 degree
electric fan module is set to turn both fans on at 160 degrees
I have a chrome water pump (supposedly meant for racing)
radiator cap is a 16 #
both fans together are suppose to be 2800CFM
I only have a bone stock 350, nothing special.
prior to this i had a 305 with a 1 core copper/brass radiator 7 blade clutch fan with no shroud and could beat the crap out of it all day and it wouldn't get over 180 degree, now i know its a bigger engine size but really THAT much difference including all of this extra stuff....
Now my question is, WTH am I doing wrong?
