I recently bought a "husky" brand (campbell hausfeld) air compressor from home depot. It is the 220v, 60 gal 3.2 running hp. I built a 220v extension cord using 15' of 10/3 wire to the 220 outlet by the fuse box. Now that I have this thing hooked up, everytime I let it run it will shut itself off at 60psi. I was expecting 120 or so? It will only come back on after you let it sit and hit the reset button on the electric motor.

Also, after it gets up to around 40 psi, it sounds like the electric motor starts cycling on and off. Is this something I can adjust, something I hooked up wrong, or is this faulty and I should take it back?

This is the one in CH trim: http://www.cpocampbellhausfeld.com/air_compressors/professional_air_compressors/vt6275.html

Now that I look at the specs page again it says it is 240v? I am sure there is 220 at the outlet.

Did a search for "husky air compressor problems" and found a guy with the same problem. Some people were suggesting a broken reed valve. i have no idea what that is!!

This thing seems like a Pain. It is less than a month old I think I will just take it back and buy the 80 gal unit at Lowes for a couple hundred more.

Thanks for your help, Dean!
