Jeff,
I lost my father 2 yrs. ago 1 day before his 55th b-day from brain cancer. When I cleaned his wallet out, I found a small card he kept in there. By the looks of it, it had been in there a while. I now carry it with me to remind me of him. I would like to share it with you, and all of the rest of the fathers out there;

A Father Is...

Someone who is just in a world of inequality,
Someone who is tolerant in an un-forgiving society,
Someone who gives approval in a world of indifference,
Someone who encourages when self-esteem is low,
Someone who disiplines in a world of lawlessness,
Someone who loves when many hate,
A Father is the foundation of society. Honor and respect him, for he molds tomorrow's leaders.

God bless you and your family, with the strength your father has shown you, you will get through this. As for the business you have to run, I'm sure your Dad has taught you more than you realize.
Take Care,
Jeff

So sorry for your loss, I will keep you in my prayers...

Take comfort that he passed quickly, in the long run it was probably best for him and your family...

24 years ago, my father died suddenly at age 41. Sometimes it still bugs me that I didn't have a chance to say goodbye, or that I didn't spend enough time with him (but I was only 15 at the time), but I am thankful that he didn't suffer... Mom had to take over the business, which she new very little about (did okay)...

Jeff, I am saddened to hear the terrible news. I understand what you're going through right now, as you remember my family went through the loss of my 26 year old sister-in-law only three and a half months ago. You and your family will be in my prayers. Let me know if there's anything I can do to help.

Tim.

Jeff ~ My thoughts and prayers are with your family. Just today I buried my 83 year old Grandfather who was fine up until a few months ago and gone just like that. Family members are always in your heart... I wish we could help you out, please keep us posted. I hope your father went in peace, although it's never easy.

If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask, If I don't have the answer I can surely get it for you.. Make sure to let your suppliers know what happened, they will work with you anyway they can..

Like others have stated, get in touch with the businesses CPA as soon as you can.. Also make DARN SURE to take some time for yourself..

So sorry to hear of your loss, you have our prayers.

My family has a similar genetic component that cannot be detected, for some reason the heart quits working the 50's or you go to your 80's without a problem. I've been checked on an regular basis since I turned 45 just to make sure there wasn't something they could detect going on. You and your siblings might want to have yourselves checked out. I also lost a close friend who was 35 and running 10K races. He had an attack at the finish of one last year, turned out he had blockage in 5 heart arterys but never got checked be cause of his good physical condition.

As for the books, didn't he have a bookkeeper or accountant overseeing or auditing them? Make sure you get someone with the right expertise to help you, in the long run a good CPA will save you more money than he costs, at least that has been my experience.

Jeff, I'm am so Sorry to hear of this as well. You and your family are in my prayers...

Godspeed,

Dan
