comp cams solid roller cam
duration at 50

lift 650 675

holley 850 dp
1.75" headers 3" exhaust
350 turbo trans
4.33 gear
26X10 tire
car had a trans specialites 10" 3500 stall and run a 7.16et at 96mph in the 1/8 mile with a 1.56 60' time.
Between shifts the motor would loose about 900 rpm.

I have tried another converter. It is an Art Carr 9.5" 4500 stall. If I drive in third gear at a slow speed and floor it--the rpm's jump to around 5000.
I need to get a 7.00et in the 1/8 mile.
I shift the car at 6800 rpm.

Is this a good choice for converter (i.e. stall)?
Tighten it or loosen it?

Also problem 2- with the Art Carr- around 6500rpm it makes a loud whistle. We can hear it over the mufflers. What could this be?

Personally, if this car is mainly track used...I would tell you to move to an 8" race converter myself. Keep stall speed under 5K too....and you would have a very efficient converter due to the tight fin angle. The only drawback is cost...but you would have a good quality part designed to take the abuse.
