It has a fine spline input and a large ouput with the 764 tail.
The 660 case makes no sense to me with that input and output.
All the ones I've ever seen for 1970 with those were 661 case trannies.:yes:

My original untampered with M-22 in my Chevelle is POT19C.(Dec.19,1969).Has the 978766WO,3978764 rear housing,case is 3925661,26 in,32 out and has my vin stamped on it with the same gangstamp that wacked my engine in 1970.My LS-5 is one of the earlier Baltimore cars in Dales registry.Hope this helps.

I am thinking this is the transmission in question? Something just seems funky to me about that 660 case being with the 26 spline input gear, and 32 spline main shaft. I was under the impression that all 26/32 Muncies got 661 cases. All the original ones I've seen have.

Does it have a partial VIN? An M22 is supposed to have a drain plug.
