Im ready to buy the PPG Basecoat/Clearcoat as soon as I can make up my mind for sure on a color. I am thinking on either Lemans Blue Poly,or a Turqouise in the year of 68 or 69 for my 68 El Camino. Does anyone have an Elky painted in either of these two colors ?? Could you send me or post up a pic. or two on this ?? I would appreciate it very much. Thanks, Mark -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------1968 Chevelle Malibu -1968 El Camino

I started to paint my 71 SS Daytona Electric Blue.
But Opted for a 2005 Pearl Red Metalic, Seems to me the blue I chose was a bit purple.

The color of a 30+ year old El-Camino should say
something about the timelessness of the unique style of American Design.

Just don't pick pink.

Good luck, Chose what just takes your breath away.

Thanks, Crazyhorse. Im trying to figure out what color name and code a certain 68 El Camino (turquiose) previosly on ebay was. I really like that color. I would like to get that color in basecoat for my 68 El Camino. Got everything bought pretty much but the paint. I wonder if I printed out a pic. of it (ebay pic.) and took it to my paint supplier,if the could scan the pic. and come up with a close match in basecoat ?? Is this possible ?? If it's the original Chevelle/El Camino turquoise color, I think the paint supplier should be able to look up the code and give you an exact match. By the way, I LOVE that color - good choice!

Sure,The paint on the body is faded.Have to see true color by the bed and stuff not exposed. Will have to use email don't know how to post pictures.68 el camino ss396

Mine's a great red. Not original - came up as Trans Am Red with the PPG scanner. Couldn't find it in any of the books at the shop.
