Passed yesterday morning....he had been sick a long, long time and in pain 24/7 even with morphine patches....I am so glad he is not hurting anymore, but I will eternally miss talking to him each Sunday.
My Sis had a "feeling" that she needed to see Daddy yesterday before work, which is highly unusual for her....she was there about 7am....talked to him then he fell asleep and she went on to work. The nursing home called her an hr later and told her that Daddy passed in his sleep. She is freaking....but she has her family there with her.
Daddy will be cremated and sent home to me where he belongs, he was and always will be a Missoura boy.
Tho' he would get a kick of HOW he is getting here.
He is in Texas now...but he will be UPS'ed home :D

I remember when faxes first came out....he was AMAZED!!
HOW did we get things done before, he would always exclaim!
Technology truly amazed him.
So the fact he's getting his "Ash UPS'ed" would tickle him I know :D

Am having a memorial service for him and then scatter him with his Mom and Dad. Will miss him terribly.

Ya know...he never got to ride in Butter Cup...maybe he and I will go for a run before i let him go. He loved to go fast, but didnt drive real good :D

Thanks for letting me vent some...would of been on last night, but Doc came by and knocked me out...wasn't doing too well.
Nice to live in a small town where the Doc makes house calls.

Take care ya'll..and let your loved ones know every day that you DO love them. Makes a difference. Stay safe.

Sorry to hear about your Dad Rach. At least he's pain free and in a better place. Take him for that last ride in Buttercup and remember the good times.
My thoughts are with you and your family...

Sorry for your loss. You will be in our prayers. God bless. Pete

Rachel,

I'm very sorry to hear that. Sounds like he was a good Dad. Take care of yourself and your sister.

I think you should take him out in Buttercup, I think he'd like that.

Sorry to hear of your fathers passing, I do think a quick spin in the car would be most appropriate by the way. ;)

I tear'd up reading your post Rach, but cheered up at the same time. ONLY YOU can make a grown man tear up and laugh all at the same time.

Glad to hear you didn't go postal and that pops isn't going postal either. ;)

My prayers are with you and your family. Have a good one young lady.

Rachel, thanks for sharing. Yes it is hard to let go of the good ole guys. If I can achieve anything it would be to be the kind of man my dad was. He was good, kind, quiet, and tough.
You brought back a good memory for me, so I can only pray that you will have the peace I have. My dad use to love to hear and see the rods my brothers built...I only had one or two he may remember...fast was good. But he wanted to slow down after 100mph though.
God speed to your dad!!!!

Very sorry to hear about your Dad Rachie. At least he's not hurting and in a better place. Go enjoy the ride in Buttercup and remember the good times. Hang in there, we're all here for ya.

Tell him bye for us, he's all better now. Aloha Mike

Sorry for you loss Rachel. Just remember, He will never really be far away. He will always be in your heart and mind. When you close your eyes and think of him, he will be there. When you look into the eyes of your children and grandchildren you will see you Daddy always there, always caring til the end of all your years. God Bless you all.:)
