Ken....let us know how the trans shield fits when you fit the body. I'm hoping to use one on my Elky, thanks.

Volney,

It fits fine. I've been using it for a couple of years. A couple of the bolts are hard to get a wrench on due to the metal flange that must be bolted to the carbon fiber shield. Actual fitment of the shield itself is outstanding. No clearance issues around the transmission tunnel, etc... A very nice piece, IMO.

hey Ken,
are you using a heater with the electric water pump? Also, do you have your pulleys figured out? I am trying to get mine all organized but I am not sure if I am going to throw my Meziere pump on it or the stewart mechanical....I would like to use the Meziere but it doesn't have any fittings for the heater...

thanks

Hi Yanniz,

I'm planning to put the heater back in the car. I hadn't really considered the plumbing aspect, though. I'm running a CSR electric water pump. It does not have any provisions for a heater either. CSR sells pump spacers. I was going to wait until I get everything back together and see if I have enough room for a spacer. If so, I will tap the spacer for a fitting and go that route. Pulleys are all sorted out. I only run an alternator and a vacuum pump so it's not too complicated. I'm using March pulleys for the alternator. I used a variety of parts (and some home engineering) to make a crank mandrel/pulley for the vacuum pump.

Hey, kjett, that's looking killer and there isn't even any sheetmetal on it yet. I ordered a 3.5" kit for my '71, x-pipe, mandrel bent, all the way to the bumper from torque tech. It should be in any day now, hopefully tomorrow. If you want to see how they did it, feel free to stop by and check it out. I'm on the southside in PTC.

Thanks, Skeeveman. I got all my exhaust system issues resolved. The parts were delivered to the shop yesterday to be coated. I should have them back in a few days. I'm not running tail pipes, rather turn downs right after the mufflers. PTC, huh? My grandmother lives down there. I'll have to look you up next time I'm in the area.

Looking awesome Ken. Haven't been on here in a while. Looks like you are making some good pregress now.
