I reinstalled the original steering wheel in my 64 SS the previous owner had removed. Everything went fine with the exception of the center bowtie cap that covers the bolt. How exactly does this cap mount to the wheel. I think I'm missing some type of clip from the back of it.
Any idea where I can find this missing piece?
Thanks,
Tom

Thanks Dan. I guess I will go that route. Maybe I can take the spring clip off the repo and put it on my original. The car only has 85,000 miles on it and I would rather have the original if possible. By the time I purchased the car the orig. owners grandson had changed the steering wheel and put vette rally wheels on it. Thankfully he threw the orig. steering wheel in the trunk. I wish he had tossed the original hubcaps in there too! I guess I should consider myself lucky he did not get any further into it.

Look in some of the repo books and compair it to yours and see what the difference is whit what you have than you might see what your missing...

Thanks all for your response. Now I'm on the search for a clip. I hate to purchase the entire cap for only the clip!! The rest of the steering wheel was in the trunk. Maybe the clip is in there somewhere too. I guess this and ebay will be my best shot.
