I'm starting installation of my Painless Chassis Wiring Harness (PN 10101) and I need to get behind the dash to remove the old dash wires...The problem is I can't get the dash out, is there a secret to getting this thing out or what? I see a lot of differences in the old harness compared to the new one like male connection plugs that didn't come with the Painless kit, there are a lot of these male/female connections behind the dash EVERYWHERE and the Painless kit looks nothing like it, so I have cut very minimal wires with the exception of the grounds to give me an idea where to ground the new wires. My problem is removing the old harness is proving to be an extremely difficult challenge. Does anyone know how to remove a dash console from a 72 Malibu????? Again, any help is very, very much appreciated as I do not have a garage and I don't want my car to be down too long.

TY,
Anthony

Instrument Panel -Pad Removal:
1. Remove glove box for access to lower nuts on studs.
2.Open right and left front doors for access to hidden screws securing pad.
3 Remove screws around perimeter of pad and lift pad carefully. The radio speaker is attached to the bottom pad.
4. Note-there are 2 screws driven into the top of the defrosters duct outlet area.
5. Reverse steps 1-3 for installation of pad-do not overtighten screws, as pad material will puncture.
LOTS OF LUCK TO YOU
