Hey guys - I installed the Hydratech hydroboost system today - wow, what a difference it made! I sqealed them for the first time ever - pretty reassuring.

Anyhow, I made up a web page detailing the installation of the hydroboost system if anyone is interested. Link is below :

Hydratech hydroboost installation

Enjoy - and let me know if there's anything you guys want to know!

I checked out the pages; great pics and description. The installation looks pretty straight forward and your instructions and pics will certainly help anyone who is thinking about doing this swap. What made you decide to do it? I had hydro boost on an 87 Chevy dump truck and the brakes were the best! I hauled literally tons of crap in that truck and it always stopped on a dime.

Jim - that's pretty much the reason I decided to do the swap. I carry a bunch of band equipment around in my El Camino, and I'd say at times I probably have at least 1000 extra pounds riding in the rear. With that, and one of my portly friends in the front, it was a little difficult to stop. Not impossible, but not completely reliable. Plus, I'm having some slight vacuum issues with my motor right now, and it only added to my braking woes with the vacuum booster. The vacuum assisted brakes weren't bad - they just weren't what I wanted.

I do sit in a good bit of traffic here going to and from work as well, and the vacuum assisted brakes performed good, but definitely required more pedal pressure than the hydroboost unit does. After sitting in stop and go traffic for an hour because Tiger Woods is playing at the Buick Invitational was about all the inspiration I really needed to tackle this project this weekend.

awsome web page! I just installed mine this past weekend, but I havn't bled the system or been able to fire up the car yet. Hopefully soon. I didnt' route my lines around the fender well like you did, mine go straight down along the inside of the fender. you have a clean looking install there!

Great info there. I called Paul last week and he is extending the Group Purchase discount from another site to TC members until end of February. So, if you are still interested in hydraboost system it's not too late to get in the deal.

Mike, question about 2004 forum was directd to SNFU Mobile, my mistake.

I would post this information in the Brake and Supension Forum.

Might make the archives great pictures.
