I never will understand why GM removed VIN "138" from SS chevelles after 68 :|
GM should have known that a bunch of old men would one day worry about and argue over this kind of crap.:D
 
Simple... Because the SS was no longer a stand alone mode, it was just an option that could be ordered on any 2 door... No need for a separate "138"...


I am sure GM never even thought people would be worried about people verifying a used car... Afterall, what is the REAL value (Value of the parts, not the subjective value of the model) difference between a near-perfectly executed "tribute/clone" and the real thing? Except for a "collector", why should any car with a 396 be worth anymore than a similar car with a 396?

Nostalgia. Production numbers. High Demand, low Production = higher price.
