I saw that episode last night. Just got done watching the one about sailboat masts. I love that show. No matter what else is on at the time, I just always seem to leave it on that channel.

I always thought it would be cool to see that How Its Made show do an episode at the Stearn pinball factory (Stearn is the last and only manufacture of arcade/coin op pinball machines in the world). I did see a segment of Modern Marvels done there though.

Anybody catch the one where they show how a Demon Carb is made?? Pretty good episode..
Did they show the station where all the burrs are installed in the metering block and main body passages? :p

Truthfully, I like How Its Made, but I hate it also. I'm so use to Modern Marvels where the concentrate on one thing, break it down to show how it works. How It's Made leaves me with more questions than answers...They just go "they put part A into part B and there you have it, a transformer." I want to know HOW it works....which I guess alot of other people do too, since they now have How It Works. That's more interesting to me....I'm one of those kids that took stuff apart to see how it worked.

Chuck Hanson set up a tour of Barry Grants place in Dahlonega Georgia for our MSC Club on the way to the Peach State show a few years ago and I rember seeing the machines that were macking the Demon carburetor.
Have they moved from there or was the film crew from Canada?

Yeah, I agree with you on this one.... I wish they would do an entire episode in one place, you can't show somebody how anything is made in the 10 mins that they spend on each topic..I'd like to see some more detail..

I still like the show though, I have a fascination with the manufacturing process in general..

And whats wrong with Canada?:sad::sad::sad::sad:
BOO HOO!!!!???? Nothing good ever came from CANADA???

Jesus H. Christ, I knew this was coming.

As I stated, "I have nothing against Canada......"

Perhaps Canadians cannot process American words or read very well? :D

Had I mentioned China, Vietnam, Mexico or Japan, would anyone have spoken up? :boring:

Take a break, guys.

Yeah, it would make the show more entertaining, but I guess it's made to fit the average American's attention span. 5-10 minutes, then on to the next thing, just like on MTV. Not many people would sit there and watch a whole episode about how to make a power drill or a sink faucet. It sure is a good show, but as someone mentioned: Sometimes it leaves you with more questions than answers.

It's kinda funny sometimes though, I was watching a show about adjustable beds the other evening, and the narrator said: "...and then they make the screws for the mechanism" while showing footage of a screw being threaded. I sure didn't know that the bed manufacturers were set up to cut their own threaded rods... :D
