with a ttiming light...lol...you need a degree tape on you harmonic balancer,,,rev the car to 3000-3500 and read the tape on your harmonic balancer at the 0 deg. mark with the timing light,you know what you have your initial set at,then subtract your initial from your total and you will know what advance you have in the distributor, someone correct me if I'm wrong,please

or borrow a good timing light. my digital has advance built in so i can figure it at any engine speeds/etc. also has tach. one of the best tools i bought, it's a mac
