I purchased a complete trunk floor from Goodmark for my 71. I went to bolt it up to the frame, and the holes don't even come close to lining up. I pulled it back out and took some measurements and it appears the width between the two cage nuts closer to the wheel wells are a full 1/2 inch short. I measured my frame, and it measures exactly 43 1/2" from center hole to center hole, like the manual says. Then measured the floor, and it is a hair less than 43" from center to center cage nut. I mean, there is no way there is enough wiggle room in the cage nuts to make that up. Stumped.

Has anyone experience this issue before?

Yes. The one I put in my car was tight, I think I took a carbide reamer and got enough clearance to get the bolt in. Call whoever you got it from and see if they have any more they could measure to see if it's different.

What brand is it?

I called goodmark customer service and he said he didn't have one to measure.

Is the cage nut stuck? It may just need to be broken loose as it should move around for adjustment purposes.
Yeah, I broke them loose. I couldn't see around the perimeter to get to the nut either way. I'm going to play with it some more. The more I think of it, I have to be missing something. Hopefully. Maybe I can grind down the edge as Chevelle Doctor said to be able to see the nut.

I'll measure the '69 I have at the shop on the rotisserie and see what it measures. Should be the same for '70-72 as the frames interchange...

Yep, the one at the shop measures 43 1/2 across the centers of the mount nuts. I'd call up Goodmark and do some questioning. I wonder if the Dynacorn floor is any better?

Well, I ended up getting it in by relieving the outside of the cage nut holes. Thanks for the suggestion Dave!

Just an FYI, when the nut bottomed against the cage towards the middle, front, or back of the car, the outer edge of the threads lined up with the edge of the hole. But if I bottomed out the nut towards the outside/quarters, half of the nut would go underneath the outer edge of the hole. That material wanted to be removed anyway.

Anyway, it's in. Thanks again.
