It's part number ts-158 at carquest. It has the same threads as the temp sending unit(although i'm putting mine in the intake, just wanted to use a reference). It's normally open, and closes at 185, then opens back up at 195-200. It fits 88-92 fords i believe. The downside is its a two wire switch. So you have an extra wire in the harness. Maybe this will help someone else out down the road.

Did you actually mean switch normally open, closes at 195-200, opens at 185?

Sounds like you want a switch compatible with a 180 thermostat? And you would prefer a one-wire switch? You might like the FS-113 from Napa even better. Similar basic thermal parameters, 3/8" pipe thread, single wire grounding switch.

Note that if you ask, possibly persistently, Napa has a book with pictures and operating parameters of all of their fan switches. There are at least 3 different GM style switches in the book with different on/off temperature points. You can also find some cross reference info with alternate source part numbers (like GMs).

I strongly suspect all/most of these switches are made by the same company anyways. I have seen a lot of 'made in Brazil' on fan switches it seems.

sorry if i wasn't clear. i meant it closes the connection, completing the circuit, at 185, and opens, breaking the circuit, at 195-200. I do like the fs-113, but we dont have a napa anymore, and this i found at carquest. They too have a bood, but no fs-113, or ts-113. This is just what i found here, local milage may vary.

FYI, they came on 88-92 tempos for sure, thats what i snagged the connector off of.

Umm... that does not make sense. Why would you want a fan switch that opens at higher temperatures? Sounds like it was meant to be a binary temperature sensor rather than a fan switch.

Thought so :)

You might also want to cross reference a 203-degree GM thermostatic switch p/n 3053190. This is the GM # for the Napa FS-113 if I remember correctly. Supposedly used in Grand Nationals.
